Company Overview: Founded in 1981, Japan Experience is the first European tour operator specializing exclusively in Japan. Our goal is to become the go-to brand for anyone looking to visit Japan. We are currently searching for a Trainee Travel Consultant for our office in Berlin. Role Overview: - Effectively manage sales inquiries. - Coordinate with the Operations Team on all booking details, including flights, accommodations, tours, and activities, as well as processing cancellations and amendments. - Create and deliver high-quality and complex itineraries. - Cross-sell and upsell all Japan Experience services and products. - Ensure client expectations are met by providing expert advice. - Deliver high levels of customer support and after sales service. Other Responsibilities: - Handle customer after sales financial activities such as processing payments, refunds, and credit notes. - Resolve last-minute changes and complaints. - Create travel itineraries and documents. - Represent the company during B2C and B2B events. Profile Requirements: - Experience traveling or living in Japan is preferred. - Must be eligible to work in Europe and live within commuting distance of Wallstraße 9-13, Berlin. Language Skills: - German: Native or proficient (applicants who do not speak German should not apply as the position requires full command of the language). - English: Advanced (business conversational level). - Excellent written communication skills in both English and German. Technical Skills: - Proficient in Google Drive and common internet applications. Destination Knowledge: - Good knowledge of Japan including prefectures, infrastructure, and attractions. - Awareness of Japanese culture and society. Soft Skills: - Reliable and punctual. - Strong attention to detail. - Excellent organizational and presentation skills. - Ability to prioritize workload effectively. - Target-driven with a strategic mindset towards KPIs. - Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. - Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts if necessary.
