Tamagawa Academy is hiring a part-time EAL Teaching Assistant to support English language learners within the IB framework starting September 1st, 2025. The position is based in Machida, Tokyo, and involves assisting with English classes, managing language skill levels, and supporting the EAL coordinator. Candidates must meet the educational policy criteria and have the necessary residence status to work. The contract is renewable annually for up to 5 years, with specific working hours and conditions outlined. Requirements: - Support the school EAL coordinator and aid students' English studies. - Must agree with the school's educational policy and demonstrate passion for education. - Candidates must not fall under Article 9 of the School Education Law. - Non-Japanese citizens must have valid residence status to work part-time by the start date. Job Responsibilities: - Assist with English supplementary classes (language support) in the IB Division (MYP, DP). - Help students in classes taught in English. - Manage students' English skill levels. - Perform additional duties requested by the EAL coordinator. Working Hours: - 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, three days a week (6.5 hours per day with a break). Holidays: - Off on Sundays, Saturdays, and national holidays. - No work required in August and during winter vacation. - Substitute holidays provided for work on regular holidays. Compensation: - Monthly Wage: ¥90,714 (no payment for August). - Transport fee provided up to ¥50,000 per month. - Workers' accident compensation insurance. Enrollment in National Health Insurance and National Pension Plans is the candidate's responsibility.
