Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)

General Position Details: - Work alongside Japanese teachers teaching English at public schools. - Encourage and motivate students to participate actively in learning. - Promote the use of English in and out of the classroom. - Involve yourself in school community activities (sports, culture day, English speech contests). - Serve as a responsible role model for students. Contract Duration: - From the start date to March 31, 2026 (renewable annually from April 1). Work Schedule: - Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (may vary by location). Compensation: - Base salary starting from 220,000 yen (higher depending on teaching experience and Japanese language proficiency). - Transportation expenses up to 15,000 yen per month. - Social Insurance, with 50% covered by OWLS (health insurance, national pension, employment insurance). Qualifications: - Native English speakers or individuals with 12 years of education in English (proof required). - TEFL/TESOL certification and teaching license beneficial. - Valid Japanese driver’s license and IT skills are advantageous. - Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates. Accommodation: - Assistance in finding accommodation once hired. Additional Information: OWLS is Kyushu's longest established ALT provider, actively hiring for current and future openings as of September 2025. The company engages in various educational services, and recently launched online English lessons. They also host annual summer camps and English Challenge events.
