Doshisha University in Kyoto is inviting applications for a five-year limited contract teaching position in English at their Faculty of Global and Regional Studies. Qualifications: 1. Native English speaker or possess equivalent proficiency. 2. Master's degree or higher in English language education (TESOL) or closely related academic field pertaining to English-speaking cultures. 3. Minimum of three years of university-level English teaching experience. 4. Sufficient Japanese proficiency for administrative tasks. 5. Resident of the Kinki area during the contract period. 6. At least three academic publications by the application deadline. Responsibilities: 1. Teach English and culture-related courses across all undergraduate levels and faculties at the Imadegawa and/or Kyotanabe campuses. 2. Maintain a teaching load of a minimum of eight 90-minute classes per week. 3. Participate in curriculum development, study-abroad programs, language counseling, and other administrative duties; may require Saturday classes and committee work as needed. Application Materials Required: 1. Curriculum vitae (CV) including a list of academic publications and previous work experience at Doshisha (if applicable; write 'なし' if not). 2. PDF files of two academic publications with a Japanese synopsis (around 800 characters) for each. 3. A statement (approximately 1,000 words) in English detailing reasons for applying and teaching philosophy. 4. Supporting teaching materials such as student evaluations, syllabi, and awards (in PDF form, if available). 5. PDF copy of highest degree diploma (Master’s or Doctorate). 6. PDF copy of TESOL diploma/certificate (if available). 7. PDF copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test or equivalent certification (if applicable).
