Software-Defined Networking Engineer

This position is part of a general selection process for various seniority levels in teams focusing on open source networking software. Responsibilities include: - Collaborating with public clouds and network silicon providers. - Designing and implementing innovative networking software solutions. - Writing high-quality, well-documented code and contributing to product strategies. - Troubleshooting and debugging software issues. - Influencing open-source projects and communities, especially around Linux networking. - Engaging in community building and sharing solutions. What We Are Looking For: - Exceptional academic background in Computer Science or STEM. - Strong drive and ability to exceed expectations. - In-depth knowledge of networking protocols. - Familiarity with Linux networking from kernel to user space. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Python. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Capacity for two annual global travel events of up to two weeks. Preferred Additional Skills: - Experience with open-source networking technologies (eBPF, OVS, OVN, SoNIC). - Knowledge of data path hardware acceleration protocols. - Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes. - Previous open-source contributions.
