Professor in Natural Language Processing

Tohoku University is seeking a professor for its Natural Language Processing Laboratory within the Graduate School of Information Sciences to advance research in NLP. Candidates will be expected to conduct innovative research, contribute to teaching graduate courses, supervise students, and engage in administrative responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: 1. Research: Lead research initiatives in NLP, enhancing collaborative research efforts internationally or with industry partners. 2. Education: Deliver graduate level courses and mentor students in their research work. 3. Administration: Engage in various administrative tasks within the department. 4. Collaborative Opportunities: Candidates may also be involved in undergraduate education in collaboration with the School of Engineering. Salary and Benefits: The annual salary ranges from 8 million to 10 million yen, depending on experience. Additional allowances include transportation, housing, and dependent allowances according to university regulations.
